The math department at Iowa State hosts two sage servers:
sage.math.iastate.edu
sage2.math.iastate.edu
These can be useful for running computations or doing experiments for research, as well as a tool in doing homework. Unlike the free online version of SAGE this does not have time limits involved and computations can run for days or even weeks. (Please do be considerate and run memory efficient computations.) In addition the processor has many cores and so multiple computations can run simultaneously.
Currently these machines are running SAGE 8.0 which is the latest release. Approximately once per month the machines need to be reset for security purposes as well as clearing out abandoned computations that are taking too many resources.
If you would like an account on one of these machines please email Steve Butler (butler@iastate.edu) with a username that you would like to use.
